Fast Orange in your tumbler

I was talking with a guy at the gun club and he said that he was out of the Lyman media re-fresher...but he was sure that its just Fast Orange hand cleaner in a different package....so he was going to throw some Fast Orange into his tumbler because its cheaper than the Lyman product.

True or not...I was concerned about any moisterizers that they put in the fast orange and what effect they might have on powder and primer....

I have a bunch of Corn cob and Walnut that I need to trow out or re-freshen...but wouldn't want to mess up the powder and primers....kind of defeats the purpose....

I've never had a problem with putting a non-amonia refresher additive in my Lyman Tufnut media...I think even one produced by RCBS works...Just don't overdo it and run the media for at least 20-30 minutes before adding the brass to let it get mixed thoroughly and absorbed into the media...

I have experienced more media getting stuck or compacted in the cases on the first usage after brass is introduced...That problem usually dissipates by the second session of brass cleaning...I've never experienced a primer malfunction from it...

Ever put dryer sheets in your dry media tumbler? Works great....three or four sheets in each cycle will collect a ton of dirt/carbon and keep your walnut or corn cob fresher longer.

I've never used any of the aforementioned products myself. I use Flitz media additive in mine, and it works great, cuts tumble time down, and helps the media last a bit longer. A little bit goes a long ways.
