Hi guys,

I have a 12 year old boy who has been on all manner of hunts with me in Africa. He's a lucky little so and so because his pops is a Professional Hunter so he gets it with the territory.

He does make huge sacrifices as my line of work takes me away for long streches at a time, so I fly him in during his holidays to where I am working.Last year he was in on a leopard kill. That was a great privilege for me to have my son there with me.This year I cant hunt leopard so who knows if we'll ever get the chance to do this again - together !!

My dad shared a lot of hunting with my brothers and I when we were growing up. We were very privileged to have that. When it was happening I dont believe we realised the true value of having the opportunity to enter the hunting field with our dad.

Now the only way I can share this with my boy is by virtue that I guide hunts for paying clients and I do a lot of predator hunting which I am paid for, as well as herd reduction so he joins me on these outings.I could never afford to stand him a hunt that I would have to pay for.

Boys cherish these moments you have with your dads because you are truely blessed to have dads that will share this with you.Dont take things for granted cause time flies and things change quickly.

My dad suffered a stroke so he cant actively hunt anymore and this brought home the truth of how things are in life. The best we could do for my dad was for my brothers and I to arrange an outing. We took our eldest children and grandad on a hunt where he sat back and watched each grandchild bring in their first head of game.

Now that was a treat.Take care of your dads and respect and appreciate what they are doing for you.

Take care, be safe and good hunting.

Roy Sparks.

Enjoy your time with your Dad. Mine has been gone for for 13 years now. I miss the times we had together. Cherish the time together. Take lots of pics. Good luck.

Some of the best times in my life have been spent hunting with my son. We don't always come home with fur, but the time spent is PRICELESS..............

Congrats!!

My dad took me on my first groundhog hunt when I was 12. He shot 3 that afternoon with a Pre-64 Mod. 70 220 Swift.

My dad has been gone 6 years now, and I miss him every second since he passed.

Enjoy every minute you spend with your dad.

Keep up the great calling.

Hope you still got the swift , I got a swift with the pre'64 action but had it customized with a varmint stock and Shillen BB. The rifle is deadly. Still looking for a scope for it.

Time in the field with our kids is priceless.

A bad day hunting is better than a good day at work !!

I wish I still had it. I got stupid one day and took up an offer to sell it. Wish I had a time machine. LOL
