Vote and comment with your favorite flavor of bullet model for predator hunting. (Chime in about other applications if you desire)

I’ve used some James Calhoon in my 223AI this winter as well as Speer 55 gr TNT HP both have worked well.

Hornady Vmax is what I use in my 243. I have some Speer TNT to try out in it too.

I have used Hornady vmax for a long time 50 to 87's Mostly on coyotes, they get the job done and are half the price of Bergers.

Now the Bergers tend to be very accurate out of my br's but I don't need 1/4 " groups for coyotes

I tend towards Hornady for predators, varmints, and smaller big game. I like Barnes in most of my big game rifles. Thus, I voted for both.

Sierra for their gameking bullets. Great performance at a pretty economical price. I also like hornady vmax and nosler balistic tip bullets. But sierra gameking 55gr softpoint has been my go-to coyote hunting bullets in my .223 for the past couple years. Coyotes hate them but I'm satisfied. :)

Used a ton of Sierra MK's for competition, Nosler for varmints & medium size game (wouldn't hesitate to use Noslers in competition, as well).

Can't beat Swift A-Frame for the big stuff.

I voted Speer and Nosler because that is what I use the most.

Favorite is rifle and objective specific. .

My 25-204 shoots 75gr Vmax for coyote, 85gr NBTs for longer range deer and 100gr Partitions in the woods.

The 6x45 58gr Vmax for targets and 55gr NBT for hunting coyotes, while I've never used it for anything larger I do have some 85gr Partitions on the shelf.

You get the picture

200-220 coyote sample with my 243's over the last few years. 58 and 75 vmax with the nod going to the 58. Just acquired 500 NBT after reading much on here and after I get back on my feet will be working a load then "meat" testing them and maybe having a "new" favorite ;).

I do not reload, so just factory ammo. Hornady vmax has been accurate and effective in my 223 and 243. Only 1 small female coyote shot with 58 gr vmax from the 243. Smoking fast and was expecting a torn up pelt but it only left a tiny exit hole, so I'm thinking it was just a fragment that passed through. Plenty of damage inside though.

I voted for all including other (Remington, Lupua, Cavity Back, etc) as they all have a specific duty and one doesn't cover all my needs.

I primarily shoot Berger bullets for majority of my rifles due to there accuracy, but love the 39gr blitzkings and hornady for the price in a few rifles

BIB bullet in 20 cal and up, if I could afford to
That'll never work..........

Randy Robinett does great work, Although haven't spoke to him in years.

Just for those whom don't know where the "that'll never work" statement is from that is what Randy Robinett was told before he started swaging bullets which turned into a side business for him.

I voted for Nosler and Barnes, but to be honest I am all over the board.

For 22 cal the Hornady Vmax seems to find an accuracy node easier and better than the Nosler BT, but I feel that I get less chance of a splash wound with the Nosler at 22-250 velocities so I run with the Nosler 55g BT for the 22-250 and the Hornady Vmax 50g for the much slower 222 Rem.

I have two 243s and I am embarrassed to say that I have never been able to settle on a preferred projectile due to the fact that both rifles shoot a variety of them really good. I also use them for both predator and deer hunting and the terminal performance needs are different. Projectiles that work great are:
Nosler: 70g BT, 90g BT, 85g Partition and 90g AB.
Barnes: 80g TTSX and 85g TSX.
The 243 is one of my favorite cartridges to hand load for. It is the Swiss Army knife of my gun safe. It can be used in so many different hunting scenarios.

I will be trying to develop a load for my 260 Rem using the 129g Nosler ABLR.

Larger cartridges such as 308, 300 Win mag, and 270 Win I use Barnes TTSX.

Here is an example of what one of my 243s does with the 70g Nosler BT. The shot in the bullseye is the cold bore shot. The next 3 are all touching. Just a factory take off barrel I bought on Ebay years ago for $60.
