Favorite chamfering tool?

I have the little Lee thimble looking thing and it makes my hand sore after a while. Are there any power chamfering tools that you like? Thanks. PD.

If I have a lot of brass to do I do it on my RCBS case prep setup.

It does all the work, I can do a ton of cases in an hour if its just chamfering. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Otherwise I use a Hornady tool like this one...

Its worked really well and it long enough that it doesnt strain my hand like the lee one did. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Instead of the RCBS you have, I've used the Lyman handheld Power Trimmer.

A little easier for me being handheld I guess.
I've also got the bench mounted power trimmer from Lyman and it does the trimming and pocket cleaning, then over to the handheld unit for chamfering.

And to think I used to do all that by hand......getting older & lazier I guess....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Ditto on Mudruck's RCBS case prep center, it is my favorite. Actually any of the automated chamfer tools by the posters or at the bare min. the standard size in/out chamfer tools by Redding, RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, etc. are easier to use than the smaller Lee tool.

Something to do with age, carpal something, and arithmetic fingers makes it tough to do repetitive motion with small tools.

It's not just age... I'm 20 and it hurts my hands after a few cases... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm kinda impatient too... takes too long with the Lee version...

Also have the RCBS case prep center. I find case prep tedious, and after 60-70 cases these old hands get to where I couldn't pull a trigger anyway. I paid more for the RCBS case prep center than I did for my reloader, but I sure don't regret getting either.

Gracey makes a great trimmer. You can easily trim and both inside and outside deburr 500 cases per hour.

There is another similar trimmer that is also great but I can't remember the name. Help me out DAA!

This is the case trimmer and chamfer I use, it's a Giraud Power Case Trimmer. I think that's the one you were thinking of too. It's the fastest and most accurate one I've used. The caliber changes are fast and they go up to .50 BMG.

For an inside chamfer tool,I use the Lyman VLD Chamfer/Reamer.I remove the cutter from the handle and install it in my drill press.Makes chamfering large batches of brass easy.

For outside Deburring,I use a conventional Deburring Tool.

I use the Lee case trimmer installed in a drill press and Deburr right after trimming.
