I got a question for you all. I just bought a Primos coyote/bear buster fawn in distress call modle# 313. I was wondering when they work best and how to really use them. I was out practicing last night at the farm and tried in a coulee that is good and called in nothing I then grabbed my old faithfull call and seen 2 coming in on a full run. I just want to get a few more calls but want to know the proper way to use it. should I go long calls or short bleats. With my hand over the end or not. any imput would be appreciated. Thanks!!

sureshot,
A fawn sounds amazingly similar to a jackrabbit when he is real small. Blow your new call about same as you would any other predator call. You may want to make the waahhhs a little longer than you would when using a rabbit call but that is about it. Those coyotes you had coming in may well have been coming to those first squalls you blew on the fawn distress call. Coyotes don't care what kind of little critter is in trouble over there anyway. A crying little critter is just another easy meal whistle to a coyote. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use all my calls to do fawn in distress i just draw out the waaahss a lot more. I like to make it more of a moning but i agree with everything Rich had to say
