Fawn in distress call

Mr. Mister,
If you are familiar with open reed calls and you know what a fawn in distress sounds like, your search for a fawn distress call can be as short as clicking on this link www.allpredatorcalls.com
Order a crit'r call "standard" and you will soon be in business.

Rich, I've been around deer , literally, my entire life. But, I have NO idea what a fawn in distress sounds like! Never pestered one enough, I guess!! LOL! Can you inform me?

mark shubert,
When fawns are first born, they have a sort of mewing sound which is somewhat like a kitten. As they get older, their voice changes. Make your call sound like a human baby crying and the critters will come. Here in Iowa, I once had a whitetail doe almost run me over when I was blowing a cottontail call. In Wyoming I was actually attacked by a doe antelope while blowing fawn bawls for coyotes. I will send you an E mail with a fawn sound attached.

All of the major call makers, Lohman, Primois, and Knight and Hale make fawn calls. I really like the Knight and Hale fawn call, and have been using one for about 5 years now, mostly on deer in the early archery seasons though.

As Mr. Cronk mentioned, check with All Predator Calls first, he might have one. While you're at it, All Predator Calls also has a pretty neat looking fawn decoy.
