I just bought a new icon in 243. I'm having some issues with it. The first problem was whenever I would close the bolt and secure the bolt in the down position, the firing mechanism would engage, dry-firing the gun without pulling the trigger...Yikes to say the least. I tore the gun apart and cleaned it quite thoroughly. Pulled the trigger group off and found a couple plastic parts I wasn't too fond of. I adjusted the trigger way back. This did help a bit but it still does it about 1 in every ten times. Still too dangerous for me.
The second issue I'm having is with the integral scope bases. I couldn't get my scope to adjust high enough when sighting the rifle in. It seems that the front bases is quite a bit lower than the back one and have acutally had to go with a high base on the front and a low base on the back, weaver styles that is (???). Seems wierd to me. And the third problem I have now is with any ammunition I have fired through the gun, it is causing bolt-kick back and I have a heckuva time trying to remove the case from the chamber. For the money I paid for the gun I sure wasn't expecting to this kind of problems or no problems for that matter. Any one else got an Icon and are having troubles with it?
