Fireforming 7.62x39 brass to fit 6.5 grendel

My brother owns a 6.5 grendel and as you can imagine brass is very hard to come by - and ammo as well. He read some where that one can fireform 7.62x39 brass to chamber his 6.5 grendel. I'm not overly familiar with doing this but curious how it'd work and how it'd work in a semi auto. Or can this even be done. I dunno.

Thanks!

Don't know for sure, but I don't think you can shrink a case by fireforming. You're talkinga bout going from a 7.62 mm round DOWN to a 6.5 mm round. Don't think it will work. I'm sure there are some step dies around that may be able to convert 7.62 down to 6.5. Usually fireforming is used to blow out case necks like when converting brass from standard brass to Ackley Improved brass since the bore is the same diameter.
