First archery rabbit.... (pics)

This is a pic i found, i took about 3 years ago... I had just moved to nevada and i really had never seen jack rabbits until then, and we moved to the state in the middle of summer so i had NOTHING to do so i desided i would go try to take a jack rabbit behide my house with a bow... now it ended up being WAY harder then it looked because behide where i live its a big flat so you never see the rabbit till it runs off and then if it stops it stops at 6oyds and you have to shoot through a hole in the brush the size of a softball. But this after noon i got out right after lunch and started to walk this old moto x road and i saw one take off up the road and hooked a right after about 70yds and it looked like he stopped right as he hit the brush, and right then the wind picked up so while it covered my sound i hustled over to where is saw him go in and then start to creep to get a view of the bush i thought he was in, AND nothing.... but i looked up cause a something glittering caught my eye it was water... a big puddle... he was using it to water and sure enuff there he was at 32yds holding his ground facing me head on looking right at me... So i drew back let my 30yd pin float to about his neck and i released! and looked up to see fur down with fletchings sticking right up!! i was so excited! a perfect reverse texas heart shot lol yea it was just a rabbit and i wasted a 8 dollar arrow but its still a day i wont soon forget...

30 yards at a rabbit is good.
Practice!! I missed a yote last year deer hunting- shot under him at 19 yards from my tree stand.

I use to shoot a PSE coyote (recurve). We use to always go out and shoot jacks with our bows. I lost and broke a lot of expensive cedar arrows so I quit hunting them. lol A rabbit with a bow is pretty exciting. Good shooting.

Bowhunter34 Carbons are your best bet for rabbit hunting,
They won't bend or break like wood or Alum. I like to use Ace Hex heads (bunny Busters) They do not bury up as bad as feild points or broadheads and are stronger and not as messy as judo's.

It seems like jackrabbits with a bow would be really fun.

How little could I spend and have a decent number of arrows to shoot. I am sure you can spend a ton of money on beautiful arrows for killing deer and elk etc... but how little could you spend using this methhod for jacks?

Thank You

Pick up some of the cheaper carbons from Gander, or Cabela's. $25 per 6 arrows. Field points with turkey stoppers are very cheap and work good.

wow, that arrow research was an education and it makes my hobbies look like a poor mans sport!

The arrows alone could break the bank but I did find some carbons for $27.99 but couldnt tell what, if any, they were tipped with.

Crossbows are even worse.
