I was at Cabelas and the have a light made by Cyclops Its aVB250 Heres the specs 250 lum red and green 200yds red 220 yds green HO cree LED W/pressure switch. The reviews on "cabelas" site are favorable. But it is Cabelas sight so not sure I believe the reviews and thought I would chech here since I am brand new to Coyote hunting in General and have never been at night. Which brings me to my next question.

How Do I Night Hunt?? I understand stand setup basics and I am set up with necessary gear for day hunting Foxpro, hand calls (dont know how to use em;), Camo, 22-250 w 4-12x50 scope. Can I hunt just like daytime but use the light? How do I use the light? Its a gun mounted light. Do I need a scan light too? Do I leave it on the whole time and scan around..... Bare bone Basics is really all I can expect last minute and searching give me way to many results to sort through when I dont know the first thing about night hunting. I assume stand setup is about the same??

I am planning on going back to Cabelas tonight to get it and I will let you know how it looks when I get home and read all of my replies teaching me exactly how to call in 20 coyotes tomorrow night!! O.K. I will be happy with 10. Just Kidding of coarse! I just want to know I am not wasting my time in the cold darkness soing something totally wrong.

I use night vision so I'm not a lot of help in the light dept but here's my thoughts. Back your scope mag down to allow you more field of view. You can turn it up at the shot should you need to. If I were a light hunter I would have a scope with an illuminated reticle without question.
Keep your light steady and smooth while scanning. Any jerkey, uncontrolled movement attracts attention and alerts possible danger.
Know your call, the sequence, the remote buttons etc without even having to look at it.
Keep your head on a swivel because night calling is dynamic. Don't think yotes get sloppy because it's dark. They don't but they will take some more risk.
Don't over call and don't seem desperate on the sequences....trying one thing after another etc. They don't buy that.

Good luck
