Fixed power

How many of you guys hunt with fixed power scopes at night? I was told that light transmission is generally better out of fixed power. Seems like it would be quicker target acquisition to, with holdovers instead of fiddling with magnification. Been thinking about trying it out, any recommendations?

Never have been a fixed power lover myself soooooo check this baby out !

I'm running vortex on just about everything I've got, haven't had the best luck with the lower end scopes around 12x. Had the 6-18 crossfire for a while, parallax was screwy when I tried to set it to infinity. Love the vipers though!

i run 4power night vision, and a 6power leupold vx3. hard to shot a good group with lower power scopes, but light transmission is good. never did understand target aquisition, if I am looking at something when I mount my rifle it is in the scope no matter what power, or how close.

One time back when I first started calling I made the mistake of having my objective set to 16x and had a yote pop out at like 10 yards, couldn't get him in the scope and he was gone before I knew it. Only had to make that mistake once, never done it again. I get bored when I can't hunt and sit around thinking of ways to maximize my efficiency.
