Flagging?

Has any one had experience with flags for geese. I saw a line with goose flappers advertised in Cabela's. They look like a pain to set up. Any thoughts. What weird and wonderful things work? Redfrog

I'm not sure I've seen those particular flags but I do use others at times. I start off with taking my decoys and setting them up facing the wind, stick a few feeders, post some guards that also face into the wind. I have used some flags that have the triangular black/white. I'll post those around in some kind of a pattern, but only a few. I'll also take a flag inside the blind with me and once I spot some geese, I'll start waving like a fool while calling. That's a pretty basic way that I set up, and it's proved to be effective. If the wind is down, forget everything, just revert to the hand flag.

Redfrog,

The flags I believe your talking about, are quite easy to set up. Whether they work or not is another story. The one I have is simply two poles with a cable connecting them, with 8 or 9 flags on it. Just unroll them like a scroll, and stick the poles in the ground.

Personnaly I prefer a kite or a hand held flag for hunting. I have used the line before but didn't notice a big difference in responce from the geese.
