Flaming Pig on a Howa?

I'll be picking up my new Howa Ranchland Compact tomorrow. I've been wondering what, if any, benefit there would be to threading the barrel and installing a Noveske KX3. The Rifle comes with a 20" barrel, which is not as short as on a typical AR. Do any of you think this would be a good thing, or a waste of time and money?

Also, if'n I may, do any of you have experience camo-ing a rifle that has the Hogue overmolded stock? Do you guys think that Duracoat will work with the flexible additive? I probably would'nt completely coat the stock at all - just a swash of black and brown - maybe some grey - to break it up some.

Don't know about the benefit of the Noveske... not knowledgable about that topic.
About the painting... Order some Krylon webbing spray paint from Joann.com and break it up a little with that. Put you a little clear coat on top and it should be good to go. For the feel of the overmolded stock use Plasti-Dip clear spray. You can get it from alot of hardware stores. Got mine at Ace.

FWIW, I wrote to Lauer Custom Weaponry, and asked them if there was a good method for coating Hogue Overmolded stocks. Here's what I got:

Quote:We do not recommend coating Hogue stocks. DuraCoat can cause it to harden and possibly crack overtime. If you still want to attempt it, you could add DuraFlex to make the DuraCoat more flexible
