Flextone Echo HD vs Foxpro Spitfire

These are two e-callers I'm considering for my first electronic call and I'm hoping for some guidance. I realize the Foxpro is the well-known favorite but at least on paper the Echo has some advantages like longer remote range, more sounds included and a dock for the remote. There are very few reviews on the Flextone right now so it's hard to say how good the quality is going to be. It is priced somewhat below the Foxpro as well, which is a bonus.
Has anyone has a chance to use these callers, and if so what is your opinion of them?

I had the Spitfire for about a year and liked it alot. It was plenty loud enough and if your going to be using it to hunt predators the 24 sounds will be more than enough. I had the remote work out to about 75 yards but never tried any farther. Dont know anything about the flextone so hopefully someone else will chime in with a review on it. Good luck.

Your choice of 24 sounds and the ability to change them remotely are hard to beat. Had mine 12 months no issues.

HARD UNIT TO BEAT GIVEN ITS QUALITY BUILD AND THE RENOUND BACK UP SERVICE OF FOXPRO.

Have never tried the Foxpro, but I recently ordered the Echo... Sounds to no end, volume is great down here in Florida I can spin up every neighbors' dog for 3 - 4 miles at night. It's actually too loud at full volume with both speakers, I typically back it down to about 1/2 volume, and use 1 speaker.

Remote functions well out to about 100 yards on mine without a problem, even without raising the switchblade antennna; haven't tried it further honestly.

Love the remote dock, 1 plug to charge both the unit and the remote.

Price was definitely a deciding factor for me. While it does aparently have one or two drawbacks according to others, (inability to load more/your own sounds to it and funky remote battery), for the price, it's a tough unit to beat if you're just getting into predator calling. And, while looking for the original thread on it, I noticed in a more recent thread herein, that the Flextone Remote Battery has been found and is available for only $5.

I got mine for $108 from a sponsor here who was running a Black Friday sale.

I want and will own a nice Foxpro one day but at first I couldn't plop down all the cash required for a shooting light, a scanning light, a Foxpro, etc, all at one time.

The Flextone is a good stepping stone for me. It's worked well so far for me on foxes and a bobcat. My only gripe is the freaking remote is so small it is hard for me to operate with gloves on. I either have to suck it up and wear thing gloves and freeze or slip my glove on and off to work the little bity buttons.

Sure, it has lots of sounds, but most of them do me no good such as the deer, turkey, bear, etc.

posted this offer the other day.

Check out Gander Mountain Item # 436819. Normally $129.99 on sale for $109.99 and if you use promotional code G11671 it will take an additional $20.00 off. Also offering free shipping so your pre tax total is $89.99. The only problem is they are out of stock but expected back in 2/27/12. I ordered one 1/30/12 and was told they would be in 2/17/12 but got a email today that it is shipping today. This item is actually listed under turkey calls not predator calls. The one they have listed under predator calls is camo, $199.99 and is not on sale

there is also a $10.00 rebate but it has to be purchased before 2/19 and currently showing out of stock and not expected in until 2/27.

After using Thumbs down for the echo...I understand you don't wanna call extremely loud but alotta the calls on this thing can barely be heard at 20 yards...and most of them are the same 5-10 second sound clip looped over and over again...after hearing 2 of my friends fox pros this thing is going to back
