The one I "had" did the same thing when muting one speaker, the muted speaker still played ever so faintly. In fact all 3 echos I had gotten to hear, the muted speaker doesn't completely mute. I had to reseat the remote battery to get it to set in properly that and really TWISTING the charger into the port on the caller seemed to fix all my charging issues.
