I wouldn't say they are junk by any means. I own an echo, wildfire 2, & hellfire. The volume on the hellfire blows both of them away, with the wildfire just slightly louder than the echo. The remote on the echo blows both foxpro out of the water as far as distance it will work from the unit. The one thing I've learned over the years is coyotes hear unbelievably well & the echo is plenty loud to call critters. The one thing I love on my echo is the the remote shows pause/play in the corner so you know the unit received the transmission. The foxpro don't have this feature and their distance is so poor that sometimes you can't believe the unit isn't getting the transmission. I've definitely called in more critters with the wildlife tech sounds versus the foxpro sounds. I do like foxpros coyote sounds better and the echoes distress sounds better. During the breeding I use the foxpro more. If I'm combination calling or rabbit equalling I always use the echo.
