I have the Flextone and am very happy with it. Figured out the charger cord needed to be pushed way in after a couple times of swearing at the thing for not charging. I also bought new batteries and kept the originals as back ups. I have found mine lasts a long time on a charge. I charge my batteries in the unit without a problem. HINT: to check if the charger is working, turn on the main unit and look at the battery icon and if you see the bars moving inside the icon then it is charging. The remote range is great. Been over 150 yards line of sight with no problem. Have not tried to max it out yet.
I think the speakers are loud enough, obviously a Prairie Blaster is louder. Dogs can hear alot better than us. I dont think you have to pipe sounds like you're at freakin' Woodstock.
Only thing I dont like about it is that there is no external speaker jack. For night hunting I keep a sweat band around the remote over the window to cut down the light till it times out, kills your night vision. Tried red plastic but that made it hard to read the print in the window, especially when back to day hunting. Also circled the buttons with some glow in the dark paint, see them better plus the ridges of the paint make it easier to feel where the buttons are.
I was using a friends FX5 but he needed it back and I could not justify spending $600 on a Fury. For the buck, I think the Flextone Echo is a great E-caller.
