FLIR Vue Pro

How would a Flir vue 336 13mm 30hz compair to the Flir view pro 640 19mm 30hz. What I’m wondering not so much field of view but clarity at speeds about 45mph, and clarity in general at equal distances.. the price difference is huge.

Thanks

Do you have any previous experience with drones? The problem you're going to run into with drones, especially at 45mph, is there is a degrading of the image and a lag in the image because the signal is transmitted from the drone to the remote. This problem is present even without a thermal camera attached. I can only guess that once you attach a thermal camera that can only process at 30Hz, that the image is not going to be that impressive at that speed.

This unit is probably the least favorite for drone users with its field of view. I am not using it for drone use. I plan on building a unit for a vehicle. And with a little more research today My findings say the clarity to a 10 inch screen will be terrible with the 336.

The FLIR ADK (automotive development kit) is a 640 Boson with a few lens options in a waterproof housing. Might be another option.

The FLIR ADK kit 640 12 Micron with the 24 degree FOV looks promising. It also has a heated lens for weather..I need to compare it to the FLIR Vue Pro 640 35mm 17 micron with 18 degree FOV. Thanks sbmarmam.. What’s your guys opinions?

I only got to take it out one time before I went down with a medical issue and I’m still out of action.

The only thing I can say is the noise level is not bad above 300 feet and you can see a lot at that altitude just by running the drone straight up and scanning. I didn’t fly long because I was having an issue with the drone.

I may sell the complete thermal rig because I’m not sure if or when I’ll be able to do much hunting. PM me if you’re interested.

Hey thanks Larry. I have got some things ahead of me but maybe I'll be back out there in a few months.

Gman sorry to hear about your health situation. I'd really be interested in making you an offer on your thermal quad, but i just emptied out the bank account on a slightly used REAP-IR. Feel free to ping me this fall if you still have the quad and are looking to sell.

hope you feel better soon.

Shaun
