Hello
I have been wanting a way to have a gunrack in my Dodge Ram, a standard cab. Preferably one that will hold two full size firearms.
I looked around and found some products in truck catalogs, and basically, I found them all "wanting". Some mount to the roof, some mount in place of the center console, I dont like rear-window mounts, but I still want good storage/easy access.
So looked around at how the ATV guys do things, and I got a product designed to go on an ATV. It is a finned gunrack, from Moose Utilities

It holds two firearms, or can be configured for one. There is a center mounting post, and a beam that holds the brackets for the firearms. They assemble via a splined setup, that allows you to change the assembly angle. I set up mine so the rack for the number 2 firearm is kicked forward about 30 degrees from the rack for the number one firarm.
Assembling it this way allowed me to get the whole thing behind the seat, where I mounted them, after removing the OEM storage tray that is back there. I have a cross-bed toolbox, so losing that feature is no big deal. The seats never touch the gunrack BTW, even at full-retract.
I bolted the racks to the floor of the cab, the one for the drivers side is right above the fuel tank, so I had to be careful,,,and CUSS.
But I got everything together, and it works really well.
