Just a heads up for any of you guys that wanted to build a 22 Creedmoor in an AR-10 platform
Shaw Barrels has finally after a very long wait released their barrels
Let me give you some advice do not buy them anywhere but directly from their website and you will save $100

Currently they have 20 inch and 22 inch , straight fluted spiral fluted and no flute barrels available

I will leave you a link Get em while you can they are going to go fast

They are currently on sale celebrating their long awaited release with 20% percent off.....

These are the only 22 Creed barrels in an AR-10 platform that are actually affordable currently available

Help me out here, I’m not well versed in ARs. I just bought a Seekins SP-10 in 6 CM. It’s got the adjustable gas block already. Would I be better off ordering the add on gas block and tube or using the existing one?

If the gas system length is the same, you can reuse the tube. If the gas journal diameter is the same, you can reuse that too.

Looks like these are all rifle length gas and .750 gas block diameter. Not sure what Seekins uses.

Gotcha. I’ll do some research on what I have coming. I’d like to sling some 62 or 69 eldvts out of a gas gun.

I kinda bought this SP10 on a whim but they’re supposed to be the bees knees.
Seekins doesn't list those specs. Other sources say it may be a rifle+1.5 gas length. You might have to wait till you get it and measure.

I would do some research on gas system length vs barrel length, "dwell time", etc in AR-10s. Especially if you're planning to screw a suppressor on the end, you'll want the longest gas system you can get away with for a given barrel length. All other things equal, a longer gas system will delay when the bolt starts to open, which is easier on your brass and all the moving parts, and reduces felt recoil.

Thanks for the info. I’ll hopefully have it in hand by the end of the week and will check measurements.

They are shipping pretty quick
my 1st one will arrive tomorrow and I ordered another
and will have it next week.

Shaw has a reputation for making a damn good pipe
those that know , report them matching the top barrel snob flavors...

I don't give a warm cup of piss about brand name shopping and all the vanity
I like a good deal and a performer .

Ill keep you posted on my results

First loads will use Superformance powder , AA Power Pro 2000 MR , with 69 TMK
The 75 ELDM 62 Gr ELD VT

Fast delivery ...
finish is saweet !

Took all of 1 hour to tear down one of my 6.5 creedmors and rebuild it
swapped out the Geisslle trigger with a K&E set to 2 lbs .

well compared to my batch of New Hart .204 barrels these bores on the Shaws will definitely require 100 rounds and some elbow grease to get it where I want before load development.

Ruff Ruff Ruff !~ No problem it's worth it to have a 22 Creed in a gas gun with 20 rds in the mag.
With that MT1000 on it and the auto ranging feature , there aint no yotes gonna escape ,,,
