Well, I went into the largest reloading shop in Tulsa today and found quite a bit of rimfire ammo.....NOT! Dong's Sporting Goods had quite alot on the shelves but at outrages, gouging, rip-off prices. Some was as high as $79.00 a brick for just cheepo ammo. It would seem that someone as large as Dong's Sporting Goods wouldn't try to RIP-OFF their customers. I've spent lots of $$ there in past years but seems as though I may need to find another vender for my reloading supplies. Its truely a shame that someone as large as Dong's Sporting Goods and the owner being a County sheriff has to stoop so low as using gunshow tactics just to make a buck. Rant over!

Hmm, I've been seeing it on a semi reg basis here at (today's)normal prices. I pick up a brick here and there. American Eagle was $24.99, still higher than before but I think that's gonna just be the new normal pricing.

As large a city as Tulsa is, there is only a couple of places to get reloading supplies. Dongs being probably the largest. They have plenty of business without highjacking. Just burns my butt. And the help is a bunch of A-holes to boot. Soo, you can get insulted and ripped off all in one place. My trips have gotten farther and farther apart.

Gotta love it, during a time when company's could be cementing the loyalty of their customer base by.doing nothing other than business as usual, they choose instead to make a quick extra buck at the cost of turning urrent customers into ex-customers.

You got that right!! Maybe they should change it to Richard Cranium Sporting Goods!

The places around here that are still charging $60 and up for 22lr are the small gun shops, walmart & sportsmans WH, sports authority get it in and sell it at the regular price.
Everything else can be had ammo wise.

I talked to the clerk at a local Farm&Fleet store, and he said
they stocked a bunch on Monday, for $2/50. I guess it was Rem.
Thunderbolts. He said it lasted for a few days, but they limit
you to 3 boxes of ammo, PERIOD. I am sure some made a few
trips through the line. They aren't selling bricks. And I
don't recall ever seeing bulk packs there. But there is some
out there, at a fair price per box of 50.

You'd think that Walmart would have the buying clout to get literally traincar loads of .22LR yet most areas seem to be out of it.

I don't need .22LR enough to play the silly game of waiting at 6AM for a shipment that may or may not have ammo in it and I despise the sleazes who bring groups of people who each buy the allotted minimum and then combine it and sell it at scalper's prices at gun shows.

I've found .22LR at the local Walmart once since the election of the Dear Leader but at least it was priced at or very close to what it used to be.

Maybe by Christmas it may be somewhat normal, hope so. Don

The ones you see in line at 5-6Am waiting until the sporting goods counter opens at 7Am are the flippers. They buy the ammo at WM and flip it at the gun shows or wherever they can make a dollar. With the mobile WM aps, you can now see when the ammo hits the local inventory.

Don

You are working off the assumption that there literally train cars of .22LR available to buy. The manufacturers aren't sitting on a surplus of rimfire ammunition, they're running it 24/7 as fast as they can and shipping it ASAP. It's just selling THAT fast! And as long as we the consumer continue to pay $80 a brick on gunbroker, this will continue.

Ditto on both counts.

Around my neck of the woods it's the Wal-Mart sporting goods manager and his buddies. He calls them up and lets them know when a shipment arrives and they show up in the middle of the night and buy up all ammo they can then they sell it online. Their shipments come in around 10 pm. Another Wal-Mart close to me fired a manager for the same thing but the one nearest me denies this is happening in their store despite the numerous times I tell them.

I just got plain lucky 2 hours ago as I was out dinking around and stopped into Murdoch & see 6 boxes of 325 packs of Federal behind the glass....I was able to get 2. Darn that I didn't have my GF w/me to get some more. We shot about 600 early this morning at the range & this was plain luck!

Alot of hate for people who buy ammo.

One thing to consider about flippers is that they still have ammo at current prices, so they can sell them for what they paid for them either way.
