Or empty capsules for that matter.

Down to my last two rounds and unable to find locally or on line.
Received this reply from CCI to inquiry as to when they might be available:

Quote:we pack and ship very often. When made the product ships to the oldest order. The Distributor ships to the Retailer based on his orders. When and where the product finds its way to a shelf is unknown to us. The best solutions for getting product is to purchase it on-line or place an order with a Retailer so when the product arrives it has your name on it.

I had a tough time trying to find some .44 capsules last year. But I did end up with a couple of boxes. Just keep searching and they will turn up.

I recently found some locally. The sales man said CCI has finally started making them again and should be trickling into the stores soon.
How true is this, I cant say. But I haven't seen them for at least a couple years until now.
Keep looking.

If push comes to shove they can be loaded just like a metal cased shotshell. Sharpen a case and use it to cut "wads" from empty shell boxes, and use one over the powder and one over the shot. (Use a stiff wire and an opened up flash hole to push out the wads you cut...) It works just as well as the capsules, you are never in a bind for the capsules, and it is cheap as all get out, comparatively speaking!

Five to six grains of something along the lines of Hodgdon Universal or Unique will do you right. Drop the powder, seat a wad with a piece of dowel, fill the case almost to the top (leave enough room for a wad and small amount of crimp), and top off the round with a wad and a crimp to hold the wad in place.

I used to load Black Powder 12 ga. all brass shotgun shells like that for a very old Damascus barrel Remington double that had been in the family for years. Problem is even the .357 mag. case is a wee bit shy on space for enough shot (better than admitting I'm not too good a pistol shot on a moving snake, doncha think?

). The more shot the better.

Keith, I'll salute you with a picture of the first rattler I get w/your capsules!

Actually there are places out there where you can buy #9 and sometimes even #12 shot a few lbs at a time. I think Precision Reloading is one of them... At the effective range of

Had a couple pounds of 12 shot a long time ago. It was a blast in a 357 shooting butterflies and lightning bugs. I used the Speer capsules in 357 and 44. Ones for a 44 holds a bunch of 12's.
