Fox Pro Shock Wave Review Pending -- Review of Day One!!!

Picked up the new Shock Wave E-Caller Via Fox Pro today.. Cabellas surprisingly had a full selection of callers on the shelves.. I was originally going to purchase the [beeep] Fire but changed to the Shock Wave mostly due to the updated remote.. I presently own the Fury so I should be able to give you a comparison.. BTW Cabellas has a 0 percent financing for 12 months if you have the Cabellas Visa.

The hunting ground is all private and is close to 2000 acres in Texas County MO that hasn't been called in several years.. The coyotes only get pressure during the Whitetail season. So I'm pretty excited to get going. Hunting with one other experienced land owner, starting Friday thru Monday..

Firearms will include R-15 in 223 53g v-maxs. Mossbergh 12g 4 shot and Buck..

Will keep everyone posted.. Any and all suggestions on how to go about this review or hunt the area will be taken under serious consideration. Just happy to be able to get out with this new equipment and share the findings with those interested..

Took the shockwave out for It's maiden voyage this AM and wow what a caller!! Before I start this review I want to provide a disclaimer.. I've only been hunting coyotes with e calls exclusively for 6 years.. I am by no means an expert and have no intention of trying to come off as one. I'm learn something new every time I go out and I hope that never ends!! Enough of that lets get to this mornIngs hunt with the shockwave...

I've only owned one other FP caller and it is the Fury model.. So I can only compare the two from my personal experience, not second hand.. The remote alone sells this model.. FP has hit the ball out of the park with this new remote. Ease of funtion, short learning curve, positioning of the buttons, visual accuity.. The toggle switch is no more, the function keys on remote guide you seamlessly from call to call or to other mOdes by one push of the button.. As for distance from remote to caller still unknown because the farthest I had the call today was just over 100 yds and im confident it will reach further. Actually due to the set up for this stand and the terrain I had to place the call about chest high in a tree. Once the call was on and secured I then walked back the 100 yds to find that I had the tree between me and the call.. No sight of the call what so ever.. The remote started the caller right off no issues.. As for the caller, it's heavier than the Fury yet the sound is mutch sharper possibly due to the tweeters placed in both ends of the call.. The clarity really shines on the higher pitched calls.. The wind did pick up this evening and seemed to drowned out the call per a fellow hunter that was approx. 160-170 yards covering a field on the upwind side... This was only noticed during the playing of the Adult Cottontail Distress.. All of the Bark,Howls,Locator were more than adequate. I never played the call over 35 today so there was more In the tank.. As for construction the call is as rugged as I feel any e caller could be. I did secure the battery lid with tape per suggestion of a previous poster on this forum. Great advice!! The rubber latches that secure the two speakers to rear of the call are suspect yet no issues today. Overall with one day under the belt with the shockwave I am truly impressed...

As for results on game we had a total of 7 stands, 4 in the AM and 2 evening. We connected on a really nice Bobcat on the 3rd call of the AM. He came in fairly late 22 mins into the set.. Previous Bobcats have been taken all under 6 mIns on this farm...

We will be back at it in the AM. We're going to try to get in some sets before the bad weather... Stay Tuned!!!

Thanks for the review. Keep 'em coming. I'm considering one of these, even though I own 4 FoxPro's, if for no other reason than to be able to combine any two sounds.

As far as for further ideas, you probably wouldn't be interesting in my ideas for durability testing...

It's really a great caller.. I can see the rubber tabs on the back of the call to secure the speakers being a issue... Other than that It works well,,,

Good review. I'm not to far from you...just got permission to hunt a big farm out your way that I need to try out soon.

Send me a private message.... Maybe I know the land owner??!! The remote alone on this new call seals the deal... I can't see the remote being any better...
