What, no photos? Most of us here in the states will never get to see your beautiful country in person. Post some photos guys, please. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I HAVE JUST JOINED PREDATOR MASTERS 'I AM FROM CUMBRIA IN THE UK I DO A LOT OF LAMPING IN SCOTLAND WITH A 223 REMINGTON'I DONT KNOW IF YOU WILL SEE THIS HAWKEYE BUT DO YOU LIVE IN SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE I DO MOST OF MY FOX SHOOTING'

Good shooting Hawkeye,
Be sure to try some 55gr BT's or 58gr V-Max they are mustard on foxes,
Good to see more Brit's on the site. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

engshooter i live in the north east of scotland in caithness.hyad two fox this month with my new heavy barrel ruger and lightr on scope.never used a 223 i got a 243 how is it on foxes.

my 223 remi 700 with my home loads is outstanding on fox's my personal best shot being about 250 yds i know the gun will take fox's over 300 ,if i am i dont know ,my best bag was 8 fox's on the lamp in dumfries south west scotland ,as for my 243 i am still seting it up but it is mainly going to be my deer rifle but i will try it on fox's it will never replace my good old remi though HOPE YOU PLENTY SUCCESS WITH YOUR'E FOX SHOOTING

I also use 243 on fox.I live on the essex, suffolk border (uk) my personal best is 160yd not a great deal compared to some but i will get there.I have relations that live in new mexico, might have to talk the wife into going on holiday and have a go at hunting some real predators

It sure is neat to hear from predator hunters from other Countries, I have one question for them, If fox are the # 1 predator why do you use such a large gun "243" a 17 remington or a 17 HMR might be a better choice. I'm just curious

Howler, the reason i use 243 is this is the minimum calibre we can use for deer so i can use it for both.
Mark,it's my dads sister she married a us air man while he was serving over here, went back to the states nearly 30yrs ago havent seen them since.I think they live at a place called rio rancho

Got a chance to spend some time in Scotland this summer. Spent a week in Edinburgh. Wonderful city, and great people. Took a 3 day tour into the North of Scotland, absolutely loved the Isle of Skyye. It's gotta be the most beautiful country I've ever seen. Also saw Inverness, Loch Ness, and everything in between. Beautiful country.

Did not get to see much of the English countryside besides what I saw from the bus from Heathrow to Gatwick (I actually slept for most of that, after my 8 hour flight from Chicago to Heathrow), and from the train from London to Paris. Did spend 3 days in London. Once again, beautiful city, with great people.

Can't wait to go back someday. I spent 3 months backpacking through Europe and hoped it would maybe get the international travel bug out of my system, unfortunately it only made me realize what else I want to see. Now I just want to go back.

Just thought I'd chime in with some thoughts on how I liked the UK
