FoxPro/Bobcat Sounds

Lil Piggy, and no piggies around here. I've even called in a regular cat so it must be something in the tone/pitch

I figure the bobcat in heat sound would work if you had a cat in the mood. I actually heard a bobcat make that noise (or at least I think it was that noise) last week when I was walking to my coyote stand. I walked up to within ten feet of two bobcats and they didn't have a clue I was there. It was the crazyest noise they were making. I'm just guessing they were thinking about making babies haha.

Had some good luck with Lightning Jack on the foxpro here in Iowa. Also, I got to fooling around with the sounds on my caller one of the last times I went out and got bored. I played one that I couldn't remember what it sounded like just to see. Cal's cottontail was the name of it. It worked like a charm, because the next thing I know, a cat comes bounding across the field and stalked the tree my foxpro was up hanging in! He stalked all the way up to right underneath the box within a feet feet. I had to turn it off at that point so my foxpro didn't get attacked. Anyway, that's one sound that worked like a charm here lately! Good luck!

i dont know if its the time of year, but last month i have had a great amount of luck with this sequence:

15 mins continuos aggressive bobcat
15 mins of aggressive bobcat and switching over to raspy woodpecker every minuet. so thirty mins total.

I have called in 3 this year. I use a combination of several different woodpecker calls, cottontail in distress, and the kitten distress. I switch them up every few minutes, and pretty much play non-stop. Sometimes I will even throw in a rodent squeak for good measure. Cats are funny, some will come immediately, others can take a long time.

Small sample size but we tried hard for a cat right after christmas. What broke our slump was lucky bird then the kitten in distress when he hung up at 100 yds sure got him moving again. I'm surprised lucky bird isn't getting more votes. Good luck!

nutty nuthatch and bay bee cottontail are top producers. Lightning jack, adult cottontail, and cagie cottontail have worked for me too.

I may be totally in the wrong, but i believe it's for bird hunting, not predators. I know for sure that you can't have turkey vocalizations on an electronic call. Maybe i need to do some investigating.

I wonder who came up with that regulation and why?

I'm with you Freddie, it was a weenie for dang sure! Probably pee his pants if he got two feet off the road. When a coyote gets his poodle he'll be squalling for somebody to do something about it.---Ben Jimmy
