Sniper Steve-- If you had the bell of the speaker facing away from you, then you are not going to hear the sounds very good, but even in a 10 mph wind you should be able to hear the FoxPro when it is on. I don't set my main volume on the unit itself to full volume--I like to be able to turn the volume down to a mere whisper to coax in those shy predators and many times I think the volume may be a wee bit too loud even at or near the bottom of the volume level.
Some time when you have a minute, just set he caller down with the speaker facing you and turn it on full volume on the main unit and then walk back 50, 100, 150, 200 yards or more and see if you can hear it a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 volume as you use the remote to turn it up. The FoxPros I have had are very loud when turned way up.
Remember, a predator's ears are way better at picking up those sounds than you ears. I have no doubt that predators 1/2 mile to 3/4 of a mile or so can hear your FoxPro in a 10 mph wind. You may just have it cranked up way too loud and might be scaring the critters away /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
