FoxPro Firestorm need some insight on charger etc confused and not happy

Hey Guys,
I just picked up a "Firestorm" and am confused.
The box said it can use rechargeable batteries, not included of course. So I open the box read the manual and it suggests what type of rechargeables. So I go out and pick up eight at Radio Shack for $42

. I am rural so few options especially when you want to get hunting ASAP.

So I open the cord packet thinking that is the recharging cable (I did not look at it when I initially opened the box, I just assumed). So now it appears that a charger is not included. The box does not say charger not included, so I am not happy that I now would have to purchase one and use alkaline's until I do. The kicker is FoxPro sells eight batteries and charger ~$30.

So two questions
#1 Am I correct in assuming that the cord is for accessories?
#2 I found several AC/DC chargers in the house but sadly only one fits the FoxPro plug. It says the following
Input: 120V AC 60Hz 8W
Output: 12V DC 300mA

So can I use this charger as the plug fits the FireStorm without causing a problem like to much juice going in or not enough?
I see FoxPro's site just says that the charger they sell is standard 120V.

Any insight is much appreciated.
Thanks

I would not use any charger that I was not absolutely positive about. FoxPro chargers are engineered to turn off automatically if the batteries heat up to a certain level. If you must use the chargers you have in the house, I suggest you charge the batteries out of the Firestorm eliminating any possibility of damaging your ecaller.

The techs at FoxPro can square away for sure if you give them a call.

FoxPro callers don't come with batteries because of the many variations in user preferences. If they included batteries, charger, etc., and you did not want that system, then you would be paying more for your caller, and getting something you don't really want.

If you go the rechargeable battery route, FoxPro batteries and the matching charger are they way to roll....They are optimum performance batteries, already paired with the right charger for the batteries.

If you get aftermarket batteries, be sure and get the charger designed for them. If you pair a charger up with batteries it was not intended for, the worst case scenario is that they explode. If you have the charger plugged into the caller, and the batteries explode while installed in the caller, it could permanently damage the caller.

Get the Foxpro batts. and charger. It's the best way to go.
