FOXPRO FURY 2 FOR CROW CALLING

I am new to this forum and predator calling in general, but certainly not to hunting. Yesterday I ordered a new Foxpro Fury 2 call directly from the company. They are loading it for crow, coyote and fox hunting. My first use for the call will be crow hunting this month, and coyote hunting this winter. When I emiled a friend who is a long time crow hunter and told him of my purchase, he told me he will not hunt in the same blind with a Foxpro caller. He claims they do not work on crows, that the sound is awful and I really should buy an oboslete JS Tape caller. Any comments on this claim? Thanks.

Well, tell your "friend" I use a FoxPro. That way he'll stay away from my stand leaving more crows for me to shoot.
My first caller was a homemade that worked well with JS tapes and sounds downloaded from the internet.
Now I primarily use a FoxPro Scorpion. When I need more volume I plug in another speaker or two. Or, even take my old home made caller. It's WAY LOUD. The Scorpion isn't as loud as the Fury. I don't use an extra speaker too often as I'm usually "runnin' n gunnin' and don't really need/or want the added weight/bulk. Light weight/low bulk is why I chose the Scorpion.
Go ahead and use your Fury II. It'll work just fine.
If you really think you NEED JS sounds buy the JS CDs and load 'em onto your Fury.

I just ordered a new Fury II yesterday but have had both a Scorpion and Spitfire in the past and both would call crows just as well as my JS PM3. If you would prefer JS sounds you can buy a cd and put them on your Foxpro.

I have a Fury. I hunt coyotes almost year around. Sometimes when coyote hunting is slow I will put on some crow sounds and things get interesting. It will usually call in crows from more than one direction.

Thanks for the posts. I do not think I need other sounds, but my friend does. My caller will be here friday, and I plan to give it a whirl in the afternoon. I am very excited to get into this.

Tell your friend to check out Bob Aronsohn, the best known crow hunter in the world, who has killed way over 100,000 crows in his career. He uses a Foxpro Krakatoa which will call them from the next zip code and then some.

Using the list of crow calls that Foxpro provides, which one would you use to begin a calling sequence, and then when the crows started to come, would you switch to another call sound? Thanks.

i have not had any bad experiences out of my Foxpro Fury...as far as crow calling me and a friend just killed 26 on 1 stand and 16 on another...

I'd get the Bob Aronsohn dvd's and watch them first. Watch what the Old Master does and copy it as best you can. He even has instructional stuff available you can get through Foxpro.
