Foxpro Programming issues

Greetings guys. I recently aquired a Foxpro FX5. I purchased a 16 call soundpack from Foxpro, and also had a few sounds on my computer, as well as the 40 or so calls that were on the Foxpro. The problem is, when I attempted to put ALL of the calls (some foxpro, some not) onto the FX5, the calls all transferred, but on my tx200 remote, the names of the calls are a mess. Some are completely unreadable, others appear as just a blank space, and a few are simply charachetrs such as {-} and other assorted squiggles. The sounds play, but I cannot tell what they are without reading the printout. Is there a way to fix this? Perhaps using a method other than Foxpro's software to upload sounds to the caller would work? I'm new to Foxpro, and this is a really big bummer for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Cricco,

I'm the guy you bought the caller from. Did you read the manual? Changing the sounds on the call is a two step process. First you copy the sounds to the caller using the USB cable to connect your caller to the computer. After that, you have to copy the calls from the the call to the remote. You have to follow the instructions very carefully as once it was telling me to press a certain button, but it was a button that was on the unit and the remote and I was pressing the wrong one.

When you update the remote with the new calls you installed on the caller, you use the other(MP3) cable to connect the remote to the caller.

cmatera, thanks for responding. I was able to transfer the sounds ok, but the issue I think, is that the foxpro sounds have a number before the name, and the non-foxpro sounds do not. I was advised that I have to place a 3 digit number before the name of each call. I'm going to try that as soon as I get home. I'm sure it will work out, I just wasn't familiar with the call, and it's a bit of a learning experience that I have to familiarize myself with.

i had a problem putting the sounds from fx-5 to remote, found the problem was the cable i was using was from my jack-n-box,looked the same but they are differant, when used the cable that came with the call it worked fine, some of the sounds wernt fox pro and i didnt put a # to them.

There's definitely a learning curve. I only rearranged the calls once, but I used all Foxpro calls. I didn't even know you could use other calls. I thought you had to use Foxpros and they are proprietary. I too am sure it will work out. Hey you're half way there. You got the calls on the caller. Learning is a small part of the fun.-carl

You MUST have a three digit # AND a space before the sound name. The first will be Example "000 Coyote Locator.fxp" then something like "001 Male Coyote Chall.mp3" and so on. You can make the name different than the original if it helps you. But the # has to be three digits followed by a space.

I had the same problem you are having the first night I had my Fury, I now only use windows explorer to copy and paste my sounds. Do as GAJoe said though and make sure you rename especially the non-foxpro sounds to have the three digit number where you want it on your caller. The foxpro programming utility doesn't seem to work right whenever I anything other than foxpro sounds. Hope this helps as I had to learn the same way you did.

Update:
Thanks to some good advice, especially that of Possum Al, I got my calls all loaded into the Foxpro, in the order of my liking! Now I just have to go and kill some dogs with it!
