FOXPRO Remote attached to Sticks

I have had some good luck with attaching my remote to my shooting sticks while rifle hunting. It allows for my hands to be more free and yet still able to get to the remote without a lot of movement. Just thought I would share it with you guys. I bought the parts at Home Depot for next to nothing. They are plastic pipe fittings (very light). I built up the sticks with duct tape and then attached the fittings along with adding Velcroe to them. I then put the other Velcro pieces on the remote (soft Velcro on the remote).

For the new Fury I added in a cheapo car vent cell phone holder and to holds the Fury remote nicely. Again just add Velcro to taste. I wear the remote on my lanyard to get to the stand once set up I take it off and attach it to the sticks. When I am done with the stand I put it back on the lanyard for the walk out.

GJ, I will post a couple more pics with more detail but I can't remember where I bought the cell phone mount. I know it was cheap. I don't think this whole thing costs more then $12.

This pic is of the cell phone holder (black device) and the gray plastic pipe fitting piece from Home Depot in the open position.

Same pic but the gray piece in the closed position as it would be around your sticks.

Thanks for going to the trouble of the pic's! Great idea! Now I know where to start looking for that adjustable remote clamp thingy; I didn't have a clue as to what it was. Now I see it's a universal cell phone mount. I'll check some cell phone accessory shops.
Thanks again,
GAJoe

Yotecallr,

No, just the opposite is true. Yes, the remote is larger to house the large lcd screen. But, because of its ergonomic shape, it actually fits in your hand much better, and is much easier to handle than the other remotes. The way the remote is shaped, when you hold it in your hand, it can't slip out. I really like the new shape alot better. And, it's not like a tv remote either. There was actually some thought that went into it to make it very user friendly.

cool i was thinking of better shooting stick's. been eyeing those one's at cabelas. ordered the fury yesterday at Foxpro. cant wait to get it. i'll keep this idea in mind. get my heart worked on in morning. will get the Fury at a good time when i'm healed up. thank's augmike great idea. i'll be calling cougar's cant move alot. Rick

Thanks for sharing that idea. I have the same sticks but without the 3rd arm. I will have to try something like that when I get my fury. I can see where that would really help the movement go down.

Yotecallr,
That post didn't contribute to this thread at all. I'm starting to see that pattern to your posts about Foxpro with your recent purchase of a WT caller.
You're going to get the reputation of a "basher" if you keep it up.

Bearmanric, good luck on the procedure and the recovery buddy.

Sendit, I looked online for the stuff I used and can't find it now. Anybody else have any ideas on the camo vet wrap?

Yote, wouldn't matter to me how big the remote was I don't like holding something in my hand and then trying to put it down to shoot this mounting solves that for me. I have to agree with Mike though, orignally I was skeptical about the remote until I got it in my hand. It is pretty user friendly.

The store down the street from me stocks the stuff. Kind of surprising really, since they never seem to have anything else... I'm relieved to see that they are a dollar cheaper also...

About the remote mount. I always thought that something like that would give you transmit issues, since it's next to the gun and sticks, but I have never seen it be an issue as long as I've been hunting with Mike.

Here is my version and parts I used.

Here are the clamps I bought from Lowes for less than $3.00 a pack. They allow for easy removal form the sticks and fit very well and don't move up or down.

I bought industrial strength velcro and added it to the back of my FX-3 remote. I moved the sound list so I can see it on the sticks or off.

Here is what the clamps look like on the sticks. I used 3 for extra stability but could have gotten away with 2.
