Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? I loaded some new elk sounds onto my caller and am trying to sync with the remote. When it gets to the screen "Turn on caller to start transfer" it just stays and won't do anything. It says in the book that when you turn the caller on the remote screen will say transfer mode and take a few seconds. Well I watched it stay on "turn caller on to start transfer" for 5 minutes. What to do?

HI Arhoades,,

I surely am by no means someone who can truly help you.
but it does irritate me that someone out there that does know
cannot find time to step up to the plate and answer the question for you..

so here goes..
my spitfire does the same thing..

1. be sure you are using the correct transfer cable.
2. you may need to remove the battery from the remote
for a moment,and try again..

that is what i have had to do. in most cases it worked..
hope this has helped you somewhat

Thanks for the reply and I feel the same. I tried taking batteries out multiple times of both the caller and the remote with no luck. As far as the cable, I'm not sure what it is. It came in the box with it. Maybe they sent the wrong one?

Look at the ends on the cable, if the have 2 bands on them,it
is stero, which is correct. If the ends only have 1 band it is mono and will not work!

Thanks for trying! I went on Foxpro's forum and it looks like a lot of times the cable is bad. I've been trying to scrounge up another one to try with no luck.

Make sure you have the sound names/numbers done correctly. I believe that will also do it. I have had my calls do it when I had something wrong with the name during the installation to the caller.

From Pg 14 of your manual
NOTE: If this sound does not have a three digit number and a space
located at the beginning of it, you must check the Append Sound
Number box located below the left column. By selecting this box, the
sound name will not be shortened. If there is a three digit number
and a space before the name of the sound, there is no need to check
this box. The first four characters will be either truncated or ignored,
by not selecting this box.

I really appreciate the help guys but I can and do read directions. I just got back from buying a new cable and guess what? About 5 seconds and it transferred! Now I have 10 custom elk sounds. So apparently it is not uncommon to have a bad cable.

Its alright, not near as good as my MA21, but it will do the job. Only reason I bought it is so I could put some homemade elk sounds on it.
