Frankford Arsenal

I received a Franklin Arsenal rotary tumbler for Christmas. Tried the sample packet of their cleaner with a batch of brass and it really does a great job. I have tried everywhere I can think of on the web to find it and cannot. Anyone else have any luck? I remember reading on here something about a recipe, using Dawn and Lemishine. If anyone has used this in a tumbler as large as the Frankford(it will hold 500 .40SW) would you be willing to share it?

With the one batch I have done I found that the clothes dryer with the rack for drying single items without tumbling works great for drying brass. Took about 45 min to dry 300 .223 cases.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I run the same thing, but don't really have a recipe other than a squirt of dish soap, a pinch of lemishine, and set the timer. I dry after a rinse with clean water. Dump the brass on a towel, roll it around a little bit, then put it on a tray it the oven for a little while at 180 degrees. Works for me.

A little Lemishine goes a long way. My brother tumbles my brass for me and I'm pretty sure he goes overboard on the lemishine intentionally. Too much will give the brass a pinkish color.

Midwayusa has the FA brass polish. Make sure you get the polish for the tumbler because they also make cleaner for ultrasonic cleaners.

If my memory serves me, 1/4 teaspoon for 1 gallon of water is plenty. I use 1/16 in a quart and it works great with a tad of dishsoap.

I also received the Frankford Arsenal kit, but haven't used it, yet.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. After giving some of the above a try I am liking it more and more.
