Frankie Laine

Anybody else here old enough to remember Frankie Laine's songs?
Back in the early 60's I had a scratched up LP record and liked the songs but the scratches were bad.
About 15 years ago my daughter managed to burn a CD with all his songs on it for a birthday present, no more scratches.
Listened to it again tonight and they are still good songs.

"That lucky ol' sun" and "That's my desire" are the only two I remember, but that was incidental. I was totally into Rock'n'Roll and Rhythm'n'Blues in the 50's. I still have "Blue suede shoes" on a 78.

Here is a list of his songs she put on the CD for me:

Cry of the Wild Goose
Ghost Riders in the Sky
Mule Train
North to Alaska
Dead Man's Hand
Rawhide
Sixteen Tons
Hanging Tree
Tonight We're Setting the Woods on Fire
Hey Good Lookin' w/ Jo Stafford

My mother has an old Frankie Lane album. I can remember sitting and listening to it many times. Water.. was one of my favorites.

Wild goose, brother goose, which is best
