Spring for me is a magical time. Sage rate shooting in alfalfa fields. Those warm windless days when ive shot over 600 rounds Two rifles so one barrel can cool off. My real joy is hiking in mountain ranges in Nevada and glassing for Marmots and Ground squirrels and taking shots at different distances. Setting up my wall tent cooking over the camp fire. Wood stove in the tent for those cold mornings
 
Has anyone here ever been condemned for your varmint hunting? By hunters who don't varmint hunt? Neighbors or friends I sure have. It makes absolutely no rational sense to me. People who wouldn’t hesitate to set Rate traps or mouse traps or set out Decon when they see varmints around their home. I worked at a huge warehouse as a HVAC Teck. Pigeons in the Condensers and Air Handlers on the roof. I was told to trap them but they had to be released un harmed??????? Sometimes I question a person’s intelligence and question if they have any common sense

I'll one up you...

People at my workplace were complaining about the pigeons pooping on them all the time so we jumped through all the legal hoops to give the pigeons their last meal....

The same people that were complaining called PETA.
 
I have had people tell me I was a bad person, its not hunting its shooting. Why yes, yes it is. And the most fun you can have shooting. I try to get a pigeon or two every day or two. They only sit for one or two shots, but when you get a direct hit on a pigeon with a 55gr vmax, the explosion of the bird is louder than the suppressed shot. Makes me laugh every time.
