Fred Eichler signature series from RRA

Ol' Fred manages to get his name put on alot of things these days. He's livin' the dream. Plus he's has a totally hot wife that owns Muzzy broadheads. Ain't fair! lol

I agree dmpowder. I like the short rail on the 3 sides at the muzzle end. Best of a quad rail and a free float tube in one. The paw prints are cool too.

According to Fred's facebook page...they had started taking orders at the show he was just recently at. Said there was a thirty day turnaround time.

I like Rock river AR's. The most accurate Factory AR I had was a RRA.

Don't like 16" barrels or see the need for a muzzle brake on a AR in 223.

I love the coyote tracks free float tube, but the price is steep. Hope they will sell just the tube. The muzzle brake would be an ear buster. A Kies linear comp would be nice on such a short barrel. I'm a wuss when it comes to muzzle blast though.

For long hikes it seems kinda heavy at 7.6 pounds for a calling rig. Add a scope and mount, sling, full magazine and you'll have a 9 lb rifle all up.

But....looking cool if half the game. Besides you get more out of your hunt if you suffer a little.

never understood the light weight issue. what's a couple of pounds. 7lbs...10lbs...12lbs... if your trying to save a little weight, maybe hike more often.?

True enough, while coyote hunting I guess I never thought much about packing my 8.5 pound bushmaster but would never dream of packing a rifle that heavy along on a sheep or goat hunt above timberline, there ounces count!!I plan on taking my 25.06 bull bbl savage on a wolf hunt this comming fall it tips the scales at 9 pounds. Sorry for hijacking the thread! Love the F.E. rifle!!!

Uh huh... that's why most of the experienced guys choose lightweight to mid-weight rifles for their calling rigs, right? Especially the more so if they hunt rough or steep country and hike 5 - 7 miles in a day of hunting over that type of terrain. The more experience they have with hard chargers the more they appreciate a quick handling responsive rifle rather than a fence post benchrester better suited to a prairie dog town.

What does Fred Eichler know about designing ARs? Neat enough looking gun, but I totally don't understand the full length picatinny rail. Any attachment on it would be directly in front of the scope.

My thoughts.

Fred has a TV show, therefore he just knows this stuff.

Actually joking aside I am starting to kind of like his show now. Since he's using better bullets and dropping more coyotes. Much better than that dead dog walking farce.

Too much tacticool stuff for me.

My guess would be night vision. They often need a lot more rail space to fit the NV and optic.

I like the full length rail on top and the little ones on the sides, but don't like the tracks...look tacky to me.
