1.You need to be under fifteen.
2.You have to write it, no parent (or girlfriend) help.
3.You have to post "essay" on PM.
4.All entries must be posted by "3-09-2004"

Topic of essay...(Pick One)
"Why wildlife conservation is important" or
"Why a good education is important" or
"Why abstainance is important"

10 words per year of age. Age 7=70 words 15= 150 words.

If there is a good turn out, I might pick two depending on age!

come one, extend it to 16! PLLLLEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!!!!

Either way, i think one of the topics should be why you hunt.

Can the essay be longer than 10 words per year of age?
thanks
KYle

Kyle,

You still have until March 9th. Why would you need longer than that?

I think the topics are appropriate and fair.

The essay can be as long as you like. The 10 words/year of age is just a minimum.

AW,

Seems if we “just give it away” we get flooded with me, me, me, emails.

If we ask kids to put a little effort and thought into the process we get nothing.

I’m 39 years old kids. I don’t want to sound like an “old fart” but when AW and I were growing up there was no Internet and not many people were willing to give away stuff they paid for to kids that were not family.

Asking you visitors to this “youth forum” to write a little essay as to why you should be picked to win a free item isn’t too much to ask. Not to mention it’ll only help your English skills (notice I didn’t say language arts, for those of you parents that didn’t know… English class in now Language Arts).

Come on kids; restore my faith in the future of the shooting sports!

“Why Wildlife Conservation is Important”

My name is Nick Myron, and am 15 years old

Wildlife conservation is important not only for the animals but for us, the hunters. Wildlife Conservation is the single most important thing in my opinion that will ensure that the next generation has the same opportunities, as we are so fortunate to have.

By enforcing game regulations and making sure that wildlife has a safe and natural place to live we can watch the future generations enjoy the same joyful experiences that we have had and will continue to have as long as we make sure our forests stay protected from to much growth and development. Even I have noticed places that had lots of game but now (5 years later) the land has been dug up to create room for new houses. We all know that the growing population is inevitable and to compensate for that we must build more homes, but keeping the development to a minimum is very important and will help very much in ensuring the future of the wildlife that some have come to take for granted.

Another thing that will help wildlife is keeping our forest clean, we have all been hunting and ran across an area that has trash all over from irresponsible jerks (for lack of a better word) that think it will make no difference (maybe they arent thinking and thats the problem, who knows?) but my point is if we run across something like this we should do our best to clean it up, and if need be report it to someone.

Thanks you AW for this opportunity, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hello, My name is Chance (CoyoteCowboy) and I'm 12 years old. Here is my "essay" for the free subscription to Fur Fish Game. Thanks

Why Wildlife Conservation is Important
By Chance Sullivan

Wildlife conservation is important for many reasons. One reason is that it protects them from becoming endangered or even extinct by hunters, predators, or other reasons. If it wasn't for wildlife conservation, many animals, such as the Timber Wolf and bison (aka buffalo) would not be here.
Another reason for wildlife conservation is to protect human and wildlife interaction. This may mean something as big as making marshes in Florida and other wildlife refuges to provide animals with their own habitat without being bothered by people to something as small as building a fence across a highway to protect deer and cars.
The other reason why wildlife conservation is so important is that it makes life a little easier for the animals. Wildlife refuges give the animal a place to live that is not going to disturb humans or other animals. Zoos are a good example of this, too, because they take animals from an endangered habitat (like a popular poaching) and put them in an area that lets them live and bred new young.
These are only a few of the many reasons while wildlife conservation is so very important. Wildlife conservation has saved many animal's lives and habitats to this day, and if it gets the more support that it needs from people and the government, it can lead to a world that is safe for the animals and humans alike.
