Full Ghillie Suit

I would have to carry a water bladder to keep from dehydrating, lol. Tried them in my younger days and decided to go with lighter wear with colors that look stupid to human eyes but will fool anything I’ve ever hunted.
Now a life and death situation, then yeah, I’ll don one for a shot, but not to hunt critters.

What do you think about trying it in the cool or cold weather for coyotes or deer?

I have a Camo Systems Jackal suit (Jacket & Pants) it’s large enough to wear over top of insulation layers.
I’ve had deer walk past so close I could touch them. Amazing what a good ghillie suit is capable of.

The first time I had to pick a bazillion cockle burrs out of a ghillie suit was, I think, the last time I wore it.

Honestly, ....it doesn't mimic any of the flora where you demonstrated the suit. If you sit perfectly still behind a bush or a downed tree, as you did in the demonstration, any conventional camo will work. You want to disguise your form and "blend" in. I would have looked for something that was primarily varying shades of green leaves, then you can sit right out in the open and look like a bush.

I just wear a ghillie jacket with a light weight lining, I can where it with a t-shirt, or a sweater or over a down puffy. I do not worry about the bottoms as my legs are out of line of sight.

I will be wearing this in the fall when the leaves and flora are mostly dead. That’s why I went with the brown instead of the green. Just wanted to give the basic idea in the video.

I’ve had the same thing happen without a ghillie. I’ve never deemed it a necessity for hunting purposes to wear anything more than good camo. To each their own.

I have a home built Ghillie jacket that I use for winter snow use that is amazing but I can't imagine a full body one. Like others said burs and weight being a big issue.

Tried a Ghillie once or twice, shed the pants first, then finally gave up on the jacket. Everything in S. TX has thorns; burrs nixed the pants first time out, "waitabits" grabbing jacket soon convinced me that..........

I’ve never deemed it a necessity for hunting purposes to wear anything more than good camo.
