Fur friendly bullets-berger??

Everything I have read about berger varmint bullets is that they are not fur friendly. I have a 6mm rem with 55 grain nosler ballistic tip and 55 grain nosler lead free ballistic tip bullets loaded in hopes that one of them will be fur friendly ( the nosler lead free gell test on you tube shows the bullet not exiting). my buddy went out deer season this year with his 300 weatherby mag and shot a coyote at roughly 125 yards with 168 grain vdl hunting bullet. Berger claims the bullets penetrate 1-4 inches then explode shedding up to 50% of its weight to shed organs. now this coyote he shot had a small entrance wound and a small exit wound and that's it! from a 300 weatherby mag!!

so what im leading up to is have any of you guys tried bergers hunting bullets for fur friendly predator loads? if those 55 grain loads I have cause to much damage maybe I should try bergers 6mm vdl hunting bullets then. your thoughts please...

I plan to go with an 85 grain "Game King" from Sierra, or a Speer 85 grain Spitzer boat tail in the Hot core line. No "varmint" bullet will be very fur friendly.

I killed my biggest and prettiest coyote with my .243 using the 80 grain berger match varmint bullet, and because of that the pelt was no good. I don't usually shoot coyotes for fur or skin them, but I've wanted to get one worth skinning and maybe mounting and that would've been the one. I get more no-exit kills with my 58 v-maxes. I'm not sure how the vlds would compare to the varmint bullets.

6mm in general is not going to be fur friendly. I use the Berger 20 cal varmint 35 grain in my wifes gun and it is fur friendly. If you want to save fur, get a 223 or smaller. Even the 22-250 is hit and miss for fur friendly.

I would try some gs custom bullets, depending on your twist rate, i can help you with that. I like the sp bullet for my fur gun. No expantion, no fur damage. These bullets are super fast too.

Why would these bullets be any faster than another brand of the same weight and load.????
