Fur price for Almost black coyote?

My buddy just trapped an almost black coyote in central IL. Any idea what the pelt might be worth? Thx.

Probably worth more to a taxidermist than a fur buyer. Just a guess.

^^^^^^ What he said. Ive killed many and they aint worth much to a fur buyer. If someone wants one to mount is your best bet.

I agree with all the above.

My fur buyer don't pay much, if he will even buy them ,for odd color coyotes. We shoot blonde/red phase here.

Not worth selling to a fur buyer.

However taxidermist will buy, but that is a different skinning than fur sellers want. Better to skin all the way, or freeze whole and sell of as whole.

Personally i wouldn't sell it and would skin and tan and hang on the wall in the office. It's a rare thing.
