Fur tumbler (old clothes dryer)

Got and old dryer from my neighbor and want to use it as a fur tumbler. Can I break in fur with it(do I need to add a hard object in to the dryer like a shoe to help the break in process)? And how could I vent it so it won't blow saw dust all over the basement? Or could I just hook up a trash can to a peice of duct coming out of the exhaust to collect dust?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. It won't do much good. It's not nearly big enough to do any breaking. That typically takes a 6' tumbler. The sawdust just becomes a fire hazard. You can't keep it sealed and it get's everywhere. The best you can do is put the sawdust in an extra large plastic bag (leaf bag) and tumble the skin in that. But, all you'll be doing is drying the fur, and maybe fluff it up a little.

It works ok for a tumbler, but don't find out the hard way like I did that you can't controll the dust. I had the side and rear panels off of my unit and it still happened.
