Hey man,
I graduated from uga and still hunt up there a lot. I hunt private land around comer for deer and ducks and do some duck hunting still on redlands wma. I've killed a lot of deer and turkeys down there and there's tons of coyotes. There's 32000 acres of free land just down 15 from you. That's where I'd go. There's no competition either cuz nobody coyote hunts. Drop me a pm and I'll send you to some spots.

Check the regs on the dnr sight. They do a december break from deer hunting until christmas so now would be a perfect time to go and I'm sure you could carry anything you want except buckshot. That's definitely not legal to posess on a wma. If I were looking for coyotes, I'd check the pine thickets behind the main check station and I'd also look on google earth to find good habitat off of skull shoals rd. The archery only area as well, right after you cross the river going south would be perfect. It's a massive pine thicket and I've seen tons of dead coyotes on the road right there.

Ok sounds good. I got on google earth but didnt see many open areas to call... Im not really set up to call woods that much...

You'll probably have to use small game weapons. There aren't a ton of open area except the pastures and powerlines I sent you to. I'd bring a shotgun and turkey loads and sit tight. You can call them in really close down there. Nobody does any of that.

Well they wont allow 308? I cant find anywhere that forbids it or gives a list of calibers or restrictions...

.308 would be okay if the deer season is currently in. If not, you'll have to use small game weapons. Check the wma regs on the dnr sight. I'd go with a 17 22 or shotgun.

Each wma has its own regulations. Redlands observes the old fall break. It's closed to deer hunting from early december sometime until christmas. That's why I said you need to check the regs book found on the dnr website. They have all the wma regs in it for each one.

The offer is still out there! I need to find some local people to hunt with. My girlfriend says I cant travel until after New Years (I think she thinks coyote hunting is going to replace her, when in fact if anything the guns will! :p).

So what say you boys?

I'm just across the state line in Al. I've got 3 or 4 farms around here I shoot over. We have a lot of chicken and cattle farms around here, and people just want them gone. I'd be glad to have someone to hunt with.
