game camera

no tips, i just got one, battery does not like 0 degree weather so i ordered a rechargeable one and charger from moultrie and will see how it works. plan on setting it up on bait sites to see yotes and cats. can not get it to run pix on older tv at camp, any ideas ??

Got one this past fall. When it's real cold out, it's real hard to get some decent pictures. Try not to set it up directly in line with the sun on sunrise or sunset. Better off in thicker cover due to the fact that the infrared sensor gets thrown off by the sun. I got some decent whitetail pics, but I'm still trying to figure out some of the bugs on it myself. Slower response time, but quality is pretty good if the game sticks around long enough to say "Cheese". Hope this helps.

I just pic up one also ,put it out and couldnt get it to take a pic in the cold.Works fine in the house and I like the rechargable 6 vol. battery.will put out when it warms up,it is slow but on a mineral lick it should work fine.

I have a moultrie also and it doesn't like it below 15 degrees. That is with the rechargeable battery and a solar pannel. I have found it takes more pictures when it is set up only 20 to 24 inches off the ground. Also needs to be aimed slightly down. Waist high is fine for deer but if you want other critters lower is better. I have read other brands of cameras have faster trigger times which would be nice but they also have larger price tags. New models are coming out all the time so do a little research on them if you are going to get one.

how did you mount the solar pannel, couldnt figure where the hardware mounted.also with the 6 volt battery do you think you need the solar pannel?

I clipped the wires on and shut the door on it. The new ones have an actual hook up. I then tie the pannel up to a branch facing south. The rechargeable battery will last up to 4 weeks without the solar but I like to make sure it has enough power for what ever shows up. I had a lot of problems with the first two I had but this one has been great.
