Gas block question

I just received a troy low profile gas block and the hole where the gas tube goes is open on both ends. The DPMS block is closed off on the front which makes sense to me, but having the front open will let out alot of gas? Am I over thinking this or is this normal?

The end of the gas tube is sealed so it shouldn't be a problem. Yankee Hill Machine gas blocks are open on the front too.

The end of your gas tube closed. It will function perfectly fine assuming correct alignment.

Thanks guys. I havent taken the tube out of the old block yet and I dont remember it being closed. Of course I probably never looked.
