Looking to upgrade my trigger I shoot 99% bench and pdogs with my 20 practical. Have a single stage 3lb now but looking to go lighter. Is the Geissele Match the only trigger I should be saving for? Boy they are spendy!! I understand the concept of cry once or cry twice kinda wished i would have got one when i built the gun. I'm just curious if they're cheaper options?

Thanks

It depends on how trigger snobbish you are. I personally am. Rra has a varmint trigger that is pretty darn close I paid 62 for mine on special. From a bench your not going to see any better accuracy from the geissele. It's just a bit lighter depending in how you set it up with a slightly crisper break.

The Geissele Hispeed (match and DMR configurations) triggers are what's in most of my ARs. I've tried many different triggers but nothing beats the Geissele, in my opinion. I'd certainly recommend it. If you're able to wait for a sale you can usually get the best price from Primary Arms or Geissele themselves.

One I'm looking forward to trying is Timneys new Calvin Elite AR trigger, should be out soon

That is SOOOOOO true. Triggers, like optics are such a subjective topic.

I have shot the RRA's and found them to be a good trigger. I have also shot the Velocity single stage and like them for the money. I have a Geissele and have no regrets. So it really just comes down to what you want and what you can live with.

Would the RR be an improvement over my BTE single stage? I think the BTE trigger is a dang good trigger it just doesn't fit my style.

I have two RRA's with lighter spring sets and they are ok, but neither is as good as my Geissele. I guess that makes me a snob, cause I can tell the difference. My SSA-E can surprise me from time to time, I always know when the RRA's will break.

I run all Geissele (4) and 1 Anderson stainless with a spring kit ( on my 450-bushmaster). IV had 2 RRA and they were just fine. But I spend $300+ on a barrel, $600+ on scope what's an extra $100-150 on a trigger

Love my high-speed DMR, hard to find anything that matches up with it. My Larue MBT is close but I give preference to the high-speed DMR, it is definitely spendy though. A side feature I like is the fact I can turn it way up for hunting season and turn it back down in the summer for bench shooting.

My groups tightened up from good to one holers when I switched to the national match from my geissele 3#. The 2nd stage is easy to adjust for switching from bench to field. Am also shooting a 20p. Dont regret the 330 dollar purchase one bit.

I don't think it makes anyone a snob to recognize a Lexus is higher quality than a Chrysler. Both are higher quality than most people actually need or want, but that doesn't mean the difference between the two isn't there.

The Bushmaster 2 stage NM trigger was my favorite trigger for many years when it was still available, as it has the feel and function I prefer, but with a remarkably low price tag. The Geissele is the only trigger I have found which has the same feel and function, but multiple steps better in quality and execution. The Rock River is a great trigger, but does not compare to the Geissele either.

The biggest downfall of the Rock River, for me, is the functional design. It is made to have a light first stage with a heavy break. This makes sense to some folks, as they might like a light take up, but want to feel the wall before the break. To me, that's counterintuitive for precision trigger design. Alternatively, the Geissele, like the old Bushmasters, have a heavier first stage with a light break, meaning the trigger is better suited to offer a surprise break to the shooter. I can feel the wall in my geissele's, but I have to be cognizant of my trigger pull to do so, otherwise it's a purely surprise break.

For shooting paper for tight groups I think a "surprise" break is fine, but for my hunting rigs I think it's important to know when it's going to break especially for running shots. That's just my style and it works for me. I have all RRA two stage triggers, some National Match 4.5lb and a couple of the RRA Varmint 3.5lb. I really don't see an extra $100 on a trigger gaining me much in the way of hunting accuracy, maybe on paper, but I shoot .308"s at paper and use Timney single stage there.

I was in the same boat as the OP. I bought Jard single stage because I wanted a really light target trigger. I wasn't quite happy. Bought the Geissle match and it is truly amazing. Absolutely love it and do not regret it one bit

I have been shooting the Geissele SSA-E in a couple of my guns and I really like it, but was contemplating a Hi Speed match. After trying the Hi speed match vs the SSA-E at the Geissele booth at the Harrisburg show earlier this year I will have a Hi speed match in my arsenal. I have also used the RRA NM and it was my first two stage. It served its purpose and I still use it in a 458 socom.

I have Geissele sd-e triggers in both of my night calling AR's. I really like the flat trigger and imo I don't need anything much lighter in a hunting rifle that I let other people use when we take them hunting. When the average Joe grabs onto an AR he sticks his finger on the trigger and I don't want it going bang when I am out in the dark setting the call out.

I was able to shoot a Geissele the other day.Guess what my next trigger is going to be? I run a Jewell on my match rifles. Love light triggers and Bolt guns. Got 6 AR's and 2 will be wearing Geissele as soon as I can fund them.

It's a shooters preference thing, I for one have that trigger and love it. I also learned how to utilize the ar platform within the military, where standard trigger pull is 7 lbs, so I had to practice hitting a target at 300 yards with crappy trigger performance and 3-5 moa accuracy. We zeroed at 25 meters, and my group size at that range was the size of a quarter normally. When I built the rifle I own, I took note of that and installed the Gisele, and it dropped my groups to the size of a dime immediately. I can definitely feel "The wall" when I squeeze it.
