He will raise the roof on that place. Great choice. Although he will now be added to zero's enemy list. He simply must add this while talking about Obama:

Eastwood to address GOP convention, sources say

Actor Clint Eastwood will address the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, sources tell Fox News.

The confirmation appears to end the mystery about the surprise guest that convention officials teased earlier this week.

The Academy Award winning actor and former mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif. is expected to give a speech shortly before Mitt Romney takes the stage to formally accept the GOP nomination.

Speculation that Eastwood would indeed be the mystery guest mounted Thursday afternoon when the house band could be heard rehearsing the theme song of the famous Eastwood movie "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."

Eastwood is also a known supporter of Mitt Romney and appeared at a California fundraiser with the GOP presidential nominee on Aug. 3.

The buzz started Monday when convention officials released a revised schedule that included a “To Be Announced” speaker -- tucked between a performance by singer Taylor Hicks and a speech by Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio.

Officials confirmed Wednesday that a surprise guest was still on the schedule but declined further comment.

Eastwood could get a mixed reception with the Hollywood-leery crowd.

“He’s all right, despite being associated with Hollywood,” Bruce Thompson, a California delegate, said laconically. “He’s a good guy and was a good mayor.”

New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, a new face of Christian conservatism, was another name being bandied about as the possible speaker.

The cancellation of Monday’s events because of then-approaching Tropical Storm Isaac took some star power away from the convention because A-list speakers such as Louisiana GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal had to cancel to focus on potential storm problems at home.

it was a strage speech. at first i thought he was just one of a babbeling old man. than i realized the genius of it!!
good job Clint!

I gotta say it, He made my day. I laughed till my sides hurt when he talked to the empty suit in the chair. His job was not intended to attempt to rival the pro's, but to use his star power which equates to "rugged individualism" to cause more folks to tune in. He greatly succeeded in that respect. Man I hate to see him getting so old,82. Makes me realize my own mortality.

But man, the award for bizarre act of the night goes to Newt and Calista. Now that just seemed really strange.

It was a very well done speech. I too first thought he was babbling but soon realized what he was doing.

It is very tough seeing him grow so old.

He is pretty good an orator for 82! I agree, Jeff, it is hard to see him aging so far. He is an American icon to individualism and self reliance. His films demonstrate personal responsibility for one's actions is ultimately a factor in how others see us at the end of the day, and I for one will be saddened greatly when his time comes to leave this world.

I thought he was doing great, especially because his views were pretty solid in advancing age, but also because he still seems to have pretty good possession of his mental faculties at that age, and that is something, I don't care what party someone is supporting. I only hope I am doing at least that well at 82!

Well, he obviously struck a nerve @ 1600 Pa. Ave!

President Barack Obama tweeted a cheeky response to actor-director Clint Eastwood, who mocked the president's record in the form of a debate with an empty chair at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

"This seat's taken," the president -- or someone in charge of his Twitter account -- tweeted, attaching a picture of himself in a chair. The president's Twitter account, used to press his reelection message, has 19 million followers.

But zero claims that he isn't watching the RNC!????

As usual he lying again. You can bet they hung on every word, although, not on Fox. The MSM did not cover the individual stories and short speeches from the everyday people. It's also been reported that they didn't show Condi or Martinez speeches either, so he doesn't see the whole picture. That picture would be that it ain't ISSAC they need to worry about, it's the Americans who are about to hand him his azz.
