Haha. Sweet gum balls are the worst.

Oh don't get me wrong... they work great!!!! Just not worth the trouble to me personally. I'd sell mine if I could find someone that wanted one.

There are pros and cons, but unless animals start losing their eyesight I am keeping mine.

Mine is pretty new and I only used it through this archery season. I had so many deer look and me for a little while then just turn their head and continue on their way. Before they would stare then bolt. I even had a Pope & Young 9-pointer sneak up to me, 8 yards away staring at me as I was laying flat on the ground. I have never been worried about a deer being that close, but I have never had to look up to a 141" rack only steps away. Even that big guy just kept on his way, he was within 15 yards for around 3-4 minutes.

They work, big time in my opinion. I just took mine out coyote hunting for the second time yesturday. It may be a different story having a rifle and blasting any dog you can find. But deer hunting situations where you are letting a lot of animals walk by, its incredible.

Even had an American Kestrel sraring at me for a couple minutes before it decided to dive bomb be to see if I was someting alive. I have never had to play chicken with a falcon before. I was looking right into its eyes as it had its wings back coming straight at my head. The falcon won the game of chicken, it was about 5 yards away before I started flailing my arms around.

I had an unforgetable archery season this year. I would say half of it was because of the new land we were hunting and half was because I was in a guille suit all seasion.

I only wear a guille jacket by the way. I have the pants also but they are a real pain.

Been using the APC "Kill Suit Sapper" ghille since they came out with it. It doesn't gather weed seeds, twigs or catch on every tree branch like my old jute ghille. I really like it! Still have to hike it up like a girl wearing a dress when i cross barbed wire fence though lol.

First time my wife and I used ours she shot a bobcat at 20 yds. She had to turn 90 degrees to the left and he never saw a thing. We hadn't been on the stand 2 minutes and had just turned on the call and the decoy. Have used it since and critters have looked at us but they have never spooked fron our ghille suits. Awesome.

i have to say that it does not seem to spook them as much, they just pace around and stare at me as when its not on i have been barked at.but wearing it is a pain sometimes though.

I give my answer in a day or two.

So what's your answer?

When I bow hunted deer off the ground I would wear a gillie suit. But I don't feel as though I need one for hunting coyotes with my rifle. So I sold it to a member on the site.

It hasn't made me a better hunter, (I was a great hunter anyway, lol). Now really what it has done is, give me the confidence to set up in places with less than ideal cover. Around here there are lots of field roads and fence rows with sparse cover and the ghillie gives me more options on where to set up.
I definately kill more because of being able to set up where I want instead of where I needed to.
It has positively given me an advantage when it comes to crow hunting and hiding from their eyes,

Shayne
