Excellent point. Been there and done that.

I've used a Rancho Safari shaggie for years. I put one on all my clients as well when they come up for a hunt.
Don't leave home with out it.

I started with the full gillie pants and jacket. After several days hunting in the winter I had trimmed it down so much it was just a white jacket with strands on the front and the pants were just white digi camo. The snow will clump onto the strands and will pull your pants down all day. Very annoying. As mentioned above the strands also collect bush, twigs, branches and will get caught on everything you get near.
The jacket top had its own issuse with the strands wrapping around the bolt of the rifle and blowing into my face. Its hard to sit still when you are brushing stuff from your face all day.
I trimmed the jacket way down and will be wearing a white mask and touque this year with just the white pants over my snowsuit. I am seriously considering just wearing a white fleece hoodie to eliminate any problems. Hunting time is so dear its a drag to be dealing with this type of stuff in the feild.
I had several encounters in the suit with yotes staring at me so they do work very well for camo. The thick strand design may eliminate a lot of the problems I experienced. Good luck.

I usually only wear my ghillie when I'm shotgunning. For up close and personal, the 3D makes a difference. The suits with the strips of cloth are much easier to deal with than the strings. I use one in Mossy Oak Brush color from Cabela's but the APC suits are similar. (Don't tell APC that I'm plugging their products.

) I have a full suit but rarely wear the pants unless I just make an "emergency" stand in my civvy's. Although the strips tear off fairly often, they don't gather every twig you come across and they don't seem to hang up in my bolt or on my AR. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thanks to all that replied.....im gonna do the kill suit from apc....now color decsion....here in the mountains all the leaves are gone and its mostly brown....a lil green in the woods....idk decsions decsions

This is the first archery season I have used my Bush Rag top. I have the pants also but they are a hassle.

I had 5 deer within 10yards this weekend while i was on the grounds. A group of 3 does, 1 small buck and one 9 pointer I have been after for over a month.

With the big guy I put myself right in his "man cave" I figured he was going to follow the largest trail in and check his scraps and rubs on the way. I was in a perfect spot for that. Well after sitting on the ground for an hour I layed on my elbow untill my legs were back to normal. Before I sat back up I took a look around to make sure I wasnt going to move and scare something off.

I turn my head and sure enough there is my future Pope & Young looking DOWN at me from 8 yards away! I didnt know if I should grab my bow or my handgun, I was looking up into his [beeep] eyes! He took a short cut and walked right to me. It had rained so the ground was silent in these pines, the wind was blowing so the trees were noisy, never heard him.

This is the first year I have been lucky enough to hunt an AWESOME spot in Wisconsin. The area has genetically large racks and all the deer up there are born without noses.

So this guy looks down at me quite curious and takes a step forward, I think I may have let a little more than a fart in my pants at that point. He never cared about me. He was walking around within 15 yards for around 5 minutes, just looking my way here and there.

He ended up taking off after he gave me a chance to sit up and draw my bow.

Fun. Also frustating. I saw him the next morning just out of range the next morning. Saw him 3 times last weekend.

Yup the main reason I sold the ones I had.
Stringy ones will pick up everything you lay on including every piece of poop!
You have to watch that the strings dont catch your trigger when setting up and off safety...or you will end up blowing a hole in your foot or close to it, someone I know had that happen, lucky for him the bullet went into the ground & not towards his pals.

I love mine. I will be getting the woodland before spring turkey season. The snow and grassland work prefect around the areas I hunt.

i had the same problem as furburger. twigs sticks thissels branches everything hangs on the strands. I ditched the pants and im thinking of ditching the coat. its horrible unslinging the AR from my shoulder with it on. it catches on the charging handle the nuts on the scope mounts everything. I say get a KILL suit since ive heard they don't have that problem. they work gret just a hassel to deal with all the crap clinging to them
