im heading out to kansas to hunt with a well known caller in a few weeks and were looking for gift ideas (sort of like a thank you for hospitality gift). i was hoping some of you guys might be able to give me some ideas. price wise im looking at 50-150 bucks. doesnt matter id buy one large thing or a few small items. if you guys have any ideas i would appreciate it. the guy makes his own calls so custom calls is probably not the route id go.

I think something comfortable to set on while calling.A new calling seat is always welcome. One that is low to the ground or up a little. Also a new leather sling with engraving name or picture to remember.Warm gloves or gators for those long cold stands. You could get all these things for under a hundred.

If you make it down this way just bring the seat and the gloves.LOL

I don't know, but it seems to me that I have a hard time beating the call makers to get a custom call. Maybe a call that he wouldn't make. Like a springbok horn howler, or a carved call from huntncarve /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif, a laminate by Dogwood Creek, etc, etc.
Unless he's a call maker on here then your wasting your time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

A knife is always nice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I like getting knives! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

BTW have a great time & take notes & share'em w/ us when ya get back. PIC'S don't forget lots of Pictures. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

i borrowed my buddies professional video camera to take with us and get some great footage, along with my camera. the gun sling was a great idea im for doing that and i had allready thought about the seat. i actually have a niftyseat from 3 years. i just called them today about ordering a few more to take him one and the knife with his callname on it would be nice too. all great ideas. i will be sure to take lots of pics this is a trip of a lifetime for me ill let you guys know how it goes.

How about a multi-tool from Leatherman? I received one (New Wave Leatherman) and am surprised how often I use the thing. Pretty darned handy thingy to have in the pack or on the belt! About $70.00 or so from Wal-Mart...

A knife is always a good tool for hunters! Along with anything they can use in the field. A reese lanyard might not be a bad idea. And a coyote carrier. Just a few thoughts.
