Ginny in distress?

Does anyone have a sound of a ginny in distress? Not sure if I am spelling that right. I have a land owner that I hunt on that says he has lost about 6 ginnies. And he saw a Big Fat coyote a few times when he was harvesting his corn. So he would love to have me relocate that dog. Any advice? Thanks, Mike

I've never heard of Guinea fowl in distress sounds, but you might be on to something. They are vocal and loud. I've also heard that Guinea fowl taste better than pheasant. Just something to keep in mind. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi, We have guinea fowl and yes coyotes too. Have watched the coyotes chase them all over ,even up in the window sills. Guineas always shoot first and ask questions later so to speak. They sound off at any thing suspicous or different. The only thing guineas like better than themselves is a mirror so they can look at themselves. A friend wants to record them for calling also. But I'm not so sure the coyotes will respond to their distress since they sound off all the time. I think they may respond to a recording of them talking or calling when they get seperated. The coyotes generally get after them just after leaving the roost at daylight or when the guineas are sunning miday. We have caught the coyotes sleeping under the pen or roost tree even in a foot of snow. They(birds) do eat good when young(no tendons) but can get chewy when older or cooked wrong.

Maybe the Big Fat Coyote is sick of guinea meat. I think I will just try the traditional cottontail in distress. Going to let it get a little colder though. Thanks for the input.

Ginnys did not work well for me. Saw a red fox working a cut. Played a ginny hen and it turned tail. Never called in a fox with that sound. Called in several coon and several owls at night.
Also never called in a coyote. I discontinued using that sound after more bad experiences than good. Something's are just not mente to be. I did record some baby's, they sound similar to quail baby's. Never tried that sound.
