While at the PM convention in Tucson I was hunting down near the border and ran into a local sheriff out in the bush. He saw my combo gun and said "You need more firepower than that, you need enough to keep shooting until you can make it back to your truck". Well not one to turn down some experienced wisdom, I bought a Glock 19.

It's been a love/hate relation. I love how it feels the mag capacity and weight. I hate the trigger and the slide release. Since my cataract surgery I pretty much gave up on handguns, I can't use the open sights. So the Glock has been pretty much a spray and pray weapon. A few years ago I put a red dot on my bow and that worked for me. So I put a mini red dot (Crimson Trace) on the Glock and now I could shoot it ok, and then really learned to hate the trigger, long heavy takeup, heavy stack at the end and hard to finish without moving the pistol substantially.

Time to look into getting the trigger done, well that is a problem not many smiths where I live and the wait is long. More research and Glocks are pretty simple. I ordered a Ghost 3.5# trigger connector, a 6# spring and an extended slide release. Yesterday morning I installed them over my morning coffee. A pin punch, roll of tape and a needle nose pliers and my coffee was still warm when I finished.

This morning I went to the range to test some other projects and fire the Glock. Whew Whee, what an improvement, softer smoother take up and very little stack, now it is like shooting a tuned double action revolver. From barely keeping them on a 24"x24" target at 30 yards most can be covered by the palm of my hand.

I think I have a keeper.

the 3lb connector makes a huge difference, wait til you can do this :) notice the empty brass ejected by my elbow
